Mrs. Shelley Simon joined Trinity Christian Academy in 2017 as our Pre-Kindergarten teacher. She studied Elementary Education prior to dedicating nineteen years to homeschooling her six children. Shelley served as Drama Director at Providence Fine Arts for nine years, not only helping design sets but also directing productions including Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Peter Pan. She also taught a “Young at Art” class for four years, instructing students ages four through seven years old. She is passionate about providing hands-on experiences for students and helping them develop a firm foundation for a lifetime of learning and seeking biblical truth. Shelley is married to her husband, Dave. In her free time, Shelley enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren; being active in her church; playing games with family and friends; and participating in outdoor activities including water skiing, hiking, biking, and jogging.

Mrs. Abbie Givens joined Trinity Christian Academy in 2017 as our Grade One teacher. Abbie has a wide variety of experience working with children of all age groups, including roles as a classroom teacher, AWANA and children’s ministry leader, and a paraprofessional for special needs students. Abbie grew up in Mt. Olive, Alabama and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish at Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi. There, God led her to both a degree and her wonderful husband, Wade. Together, they have two precious children, a daughter and a son, and they’ve lived in five different states! They are happy to call O’Fallon, MO home and are helping to plant Grace River Church in O’Fallon. In her free time, Abbie loves to cook, garden, and spoil her two dachshunds and five chickens.
Mrs. Debby McLeester joined Trinity Christian Academy in 2015 and is currently teaching Grade Two. She graduated from Grove City College in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and has continued her education through on-site and online classes. She has taught Grades two, three, and four at Christian schools in Ohio, California, and Missouri. She has also tutored, been a substitute teacher, and worked as a teacher’s assistant with the Francis Howell School District. She is married to her husband, Jay. Together they raised and homeschooled 3 children. As a teenager, she came to know Christ and has been growing in the Lord through involvement in Children’s and Women’s ministries at a church in St. Charles. Her favorite hobbies are reading, biking, gardening, and playing tennis. With experience being a homeschool mom, she looks forward to working alongside other homeschool families and educating children for Christ.
Mrs. Karen Wall joined Trinity Christian Academy in 2017 as our Grade Three teacher. She has vast experience working with children and families from a variety of backgrounds and has homeschooled her own children for many years. Karen graduated Cum Laude from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She then began her career as a Special Education Teacher with an emphasis on Learning Disabilities and Behavior Disorders, teaching in Illinois and Missouri. While working as a teacher, she went back to school and received a Master's of Education degree in Counseling. She worked in private practice for a short time and then returned to her first love, teaching. Karen is married to her husband, Andrew. They have two fabulous boys, Khai and Kaleb. In her free time, Karen is an avid reader and consummate interior decorator. She is also passionate about volunteerism and she spends much of her free time with the awesome young women she mentors from Sparrow’s Nest Maternity Home.
Mrs. Shelly Temm joined Trinity Christian Academy in 2017 as our Grade Four teacher. Shelly graduated from Lindenwood University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She has great experience, including teaching Grades Two and Five in a Christian school for five years and working in Fort Zumwalt School District for nine years as a Grade Four teacher and a Parent Educator for Parents as Teachers. Shelly is married to her husband, Brad, and they have 3 children. Having received Christ in her twenties, Shelly counts children as blessings from the Lord and desires to honor Him by loving and encouraging children in their learning, while assisting parents in their responsibility to teach and train up their children. She is involved in the children’s ministry program at her church and is passionate about outreach and missions.
Mrs. Chantel Pekarcik joined Trinity Christian Academy as our Grade Five teacher in 2017. She received a Bachelor’s degree in both Elementary Education and Special Education from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. Chantel strongly believes every child deserves to learn in an environment where they feel included, valued, and loved. She has enjoyed teaching in the classroom, a homeschool co-op, and in children’s ministries. Chantel is passionate about sharing her love of Jesus with others and feels privileged to partner with parents in discipling their children. She believes children are a great reminder of what it means to have “childlike faith” as we trust in Jesus. She is married with three children and in her spare time she likes to garden, read, and watch the Kansas City Chiefs play football. Chantel and her family are active members of The Crossing in Chesterfield and enjoy serving in Kids Crossing.
Mrs. Teresa Christoff joined Trinity Christian Academy in 2017 as our Grade Six teacher. She has experience working with children of all ages in schools and churches, particularly with middle school, high school, and college-age groups. Teresa received her Bachelor of Science degree in Bible and Christian Ministry from Saint Louis Christian College and continued her education, receiving her Educator’s Certification in Elementary Education, in Secondary Education with Bible and Language Arts Endorsements, and as Bible Specialist from the Association of Christian Schools International. She is married to her husband, Ryan, and they have two children, Logan and Lillie. In her free time, Teresa enjoys gardening, cooking, sewing, painting, creating, and learning.
Mrs. Dawn Griffin joined Trinity Christian Academy in 2017 as Head of the School of Logic, teaching Grades Seven and Eight. Dawn is a certified teacher, received her degree in Elementary Education from University of Phoenix, and received certifications in Orton-Gillingham based reading recovery programs. Dawn previously ran successful in-home preschool and tutoring programs. She is passionate about impacting children’s lives by helping them develop a faith in Jesus and through Christian education. Her belief in creating a partnership with parents has been a foundation in all of her career, ministry, and business endeavors. Because of this passion, she has lead various children’s programs at the church she and her husband attend. Dawn has been married to her husband, Daniel, since 1993 and has two adult children. During the early years of homeschooling her children, God gave her a vision of a school similar to NAUMS, although she was not aware of NAUMS at the time. The journey to see the fulfillment of this dream took many years and allowed her to be a part of many wonderful organizations and work with many talented educators. In 2008, Dawn became a founding board member, director, and teacher of Crossroads Christian Connection. One of their co-ops, Hope Christian Co-op, began in 2009 and had many NAUMS characteristics. In 2016, Hope was launched as a new organization named Hope Christian Academy and officially became a NAUMS developing school. Excited and humbled by God’s direction, Dawn began her first year at Trinity Christian Academy in 2017.
